George Reeves (1914-1959) was an American actor who played Superman, and Stuart Tarleton in Gone With the Wind (1939).

George Reeves died aged 45 by gunshot. The police ruled it a suicide but many believed it to be murder by the mafia, or MGM as Reeves had an affair with its president's wife. Fred Crane (Brent Tarleton), his best friend until his death, suspected his fiancé of complicity.
