Alice Munroe (1844) is the older sister of Lafe and Sally Munroe, as well as Letty Munroe, Dimity Munroe and Hugh Munroe. All are children of the wealthy plantation owner Evan Munroe.
At 17, so before the start of the Civil War, she was already married and pregnant with her first child. At Twelve Oaks, Scarlett O'Hara noticed her talking to Mrs Fontaine, thinking about what sad lives married women lead. Simultaneously, she dreams of marrying Ashley Wilkes. A few months later, she is married and has a child at 17 and Scarlett is almost exactly in Alice's position.
Alice lost her brother Lafayette in The Battle of Gettysburg (1863).
